Reading is my favorite way to decompress at the end of the day. As you can see on my 2023 Book Recommendation list, I read a wide variety of genres! I enjoy a great mystery or thriller that leaves me baffled about how wrong my predictions are while I’m reading. I also love a good romance book, as long as it’s not ONLY filled with spicy scenes. So with that being said, here is my list of must read books of 2024!

- My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey
- I have read many of Tessa Bailey’s books and have found many of them to be a little *too* spicy for me. This one is also very spicy, but I did enjoy the story line a lot.
- How to Honeymoon Alone by Olivia Hayle
- This one is adorable! Read it!
- Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas
- This book was really good, however, it does bother me that the main characters are all teenagers. *I know* these things happen with teens… but reading this as a mom makes me cringe. But overall, it is a good book!
- By a Thread by Lucy Score
- This book is spicy. It’s a good read if you enjoy having some sexy scenes while reading. For me, it’s a bit much!
- Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey
- I read on a book recommendation site that this book was an awesome HGTV inspired book. Which, YES, there is an element of HGTV in the book but that is far from the main plot. I didn’t hate this book – but this was the one that made me decide that Tessa Bailey is a bit too spicy for me. If you love really spicy books… you’ll love this one.
- The Coworker by Freida McFadden
- Oh, MAN. The entire time I was reading this book, I was SURE that I had the plot figured out. I didn’t. I was wrong every single time – up until the very last page of this book. I loved this one and highly recommend it!
- The Surgeon by Leslie Wolfe
- This one had the same vibe as Freida McFadden books without the major plot twist at the end. I enjoyed this read, but it wasn’t one of my top favorites.
- The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden
- I think I read this entire book in less than 24 hours. I literally could not put it down. It was also a very easy read. Unlike some books, I didn’t have to refocus my thoughts as I was reading. It was great!
- Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister
- I listened to this one on audible and it was great! I loved the narrator’s voice and throughout the entire novel. This one was top notch!
- Never Lie by Freida McFadden
- This was another great one by Freida McFadden. I love how her boos always have major twists at the end – leaving your mouth hanging open in surprise. This one is a great read!!!
Fantasy is NOT a genre that I typically read. I have a hard time imagining the made up things that a lot of fantasy books talk about. HOWEVER, I decided to give the ACOTAR books a try through Audible and I was completely hooked.
- A Court of Thornes and Roses by Sarah J. Mass
- This book is the beginning of such an amazing series. The story line gives a lot of Beauty and the Beast vibes. While this book is great – it really just sets the scene for the remainder of the books so don’t get too invested in what happens in this book before you read the second one.
- A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass
- THIS was probably my favorite book in this series. Goodness – I loved the depth that was brought to most of the main characters. This one was so so good.
- A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Mass
- A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Mass
- I did not enjoy this book. It wasn’t BAD… but compared to the rest of the books it was kind of an odd ball.
- A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Mass
- This one was also one of my favorites in this series. It
