Today is our pup’s birthday! My daughter LOVES planning parties… and the doggie birthdays are no exception.
For our Husky’s birthday back in February, we went to a local pet bakery and picked up a delicious treat for her. Princess’ birthday is not working the same way because of the COVID-19 shelter in place order.
I started researching a variety of puppy cake recipes that I could make with the ingredients that I already had at home. I found a few that I thought were really interesting… but I kept thinking about how the dogs REALLY love this, or would really love that… so I decided to just create my own.
The pups LOVED it. Like, demolished their slices in 2 seconds.
The best part is – it’s SO EASY.
Here are some notes for this easy puppy birthday cake recipe:
- I literally just threw all of the ingredients in my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and let it do all of the work!
- For the icing, I used my Kitchen Aid hand mixer and just whipped it up until it was nice and firm. SO EASY.
- To put the icing on the cake neatly, I put all of the icing in a gallon sized bag. I pushed all of it down to one corner of the bag and snipped the end of the bag off. It essentially became a makeshift icing bag!
- I suggest storing the cake in the fridge because of the icing. It will lose its firmness if its out in room temp for too long.
